City police cite nine drivers

Decatur Police Department officers were busy on Tuesday and Wednesday with a variety of traffic citations being issued to area drivers, including three as part of the “Click it or Ticket” program currently in force that requires seat belts to be worn in vehicles.

Cited for the seat belt infraction were Duke M. Myers, 18, rural Decatur, Joshua A. Lovell, 32, Patterson Street, Decatur, and Anthony L. Arnold, 60, N. Ninth Street, Decatur.

Two drivers, Aaron M. Sims, 41, Lima, Ohio, and James A. Myers, 69, E. Washington Street, Monroe, were both ticketed for operating a vehicle with an expired license plate.

Others stopped included: Zackary V. Murguia, 27, N. Second Street, Decatur, for speeding 65 in a 55 zone at US 27 and CR 300 S; Derick L. Blake, 33, Willshire, Ohio, for operating a motor vehicle with a fictitious registration; Ashley N. Shaw, 37, N. Fourth Street, Decatur, for distracted driving; and Stephanie A. Wilson, 48, Rockford, Ohio, for an open container violation.
