THURSDAY SWIM NOTES

At Bellmont

Girls Meet

-Rachel Bonifas won the diving in her final competition on the home board with a score of 130.70.

-Coach Norby put senior Cami Stetler in at the anchor of the medley relay and the Braves set a new team best for this year by finishing second in 2:13.45. Stetler was joined by Shaylin McCray, Isabelle Lengerich and Brooklyn Brownlow.

-McCray then came back and broke Stetler’s season and team-best time in the individual medley, winning in 2:40.75.

-Senior Karah Myers lowered her season best in the 50 to 28.33, finishing just behind teammate Madison Witte. She also swam a season best in the 100, taking second to Witte again with a 1:02.75.

-Freshman Ella Hockemeyer continued to lower her time in the 500 by taking second in 6:12.28. She has the second-best time in the county behind defending sectional champion Maggie Nussbaum of South Adams.

-Hockemeyer, Myers, Stetler and Witte teamed up to win the 200 Free Relay with a new seasonbest time of 1:53.40.

-The girls will now focus on the sectional prelims at Jay County Thursday.

Boys Meet

-Mason Mankey won the diving with a performance of 336.25.

-Evan Padgett set a new PR in the 200 Free and finished fourth in 2:19.43.

-Oliver Goble took fourth in the individual medley and set a new PR with a time of 2:42.47.

-Oliver Werling set a new PR and finished second in the breaststroke in 1:13.70, shaving over seven tenths from his time at the NE8 meet last week.

-Goble and Werling joined up with Zayne Roop and Noah Short to smash their previous season best, finishing second in 3:55.93. They remain the only group to break the four-minute mark this year among county teams.
